Mesmo com a pandemia do coronavírus, o Emmy Awards, principal premiação da televisão americana, decidiu manter a data da premiação – que acontece em setembro – e acaba de liberar a lista dos indicados. Em um evento online, os atores Leslie Jones, Laverne Cox, Josh Gad e Tatiana Maslany anunciaram os as categorias.

“Watchmen” é o líder em nomeações. A minissérie da HBO levou 26 indicações ao prêmio, sendo 7 delas nas categorias principais. Atrás dela, ficou “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”, que recebeu 20 indicações.

Em 2019, a HBO conquistou o posto de liderança, porém a Netflix recuperou o primeiro lugar do pódio neste ano – com 160 nomeações, conta 107 da HBO.

A repercussão já é grande e fãs comemoram as indicações da atriz Zendaya, em Euphoria, Stranger Things e Regina King, em Watchmem. Muitos criticam a ausência de Viola Davis e Elizabeth Moss;

A  72ª cerimônia do Emmy está prevista para 20 de setembro, mas a organização do evento já considera um novo formato e não descarta uma edição totalmente virtual.
